Remembering loved ones on 11/11

⏳ MEMENTO MORI ⌛

Author’s note: My mother passed away on 11/11/2018, peacefully, after suffering from COPD for many years. This is in memory of her, and my father who passed away on 03/04/2020

Even more apt, is the significance of 11/11:

Armistice Day

“At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them. The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918. Armistice is Latin for to stand (still) arms.”

Stop reading for a few moments and listen to the last post with me:

Mother.
Every day I think of you.
My heart feels heavy.
Elegy dedication.
Never forgotten, Mum and Dad.
Tethered souls.
On an unseen plane.

Mother dearest.
Oh, before I forget.
Reach out to Father, please tell him…
I miss him dearly, there are no regrets.

(Left) Ken, this is one of my first paintings since picking up art again in 2019. (Right) Wendy, a drawing using watercolour pens was created in 2020. This piece was sold to a local collector at an exhibition in 2021 🙏

❤️ A little note to you: Reach out to a loved one today. ❤️
